Stimulus is a private, purposely small training space based in Farnborough.
We're not a commercial gym or a drop-in class model. Instead, we offer a coached training environment for people who want to train with structure, consistency and support. Keeping things small means every session stays focused, personal and properly coached - creating a welcoming space where people can make real, long-term progress.
At Stimulus you will find 1-2-1 coaching, small group personal training (SGPT) and online coaching.

Coach Philosophy
My name is Sophia. I have been running Stimulus for 10 years. With over 18 years of experience across commercial gyms and my own private studio, I've worked with a wide range of people from everyday exercisers to Olympic and elite level athletes.
As a mum, a business owner, a former London Firefighter and a competitive athlete, I understand the demands of balancing multiple roles. I have a Crossfit and Hyrox background so I really enjoy bringing these elements into the 1-2-1's and group sessions. Testing your progress is important so you'll see my Stimulus Family and I regularly at local competitions like Turf Games, Hyrox and The hybrid games.
However, not everyone wants to be a competitive athlete, your training should reflect your life, not fight against it. That said, balancing work, family and life is no small task, in many ways, that alone is its own kind of high performance. If you want to improve you health markers and move a little bit better, there is also room for you here. My members regularly refer to Stimulus as 'a safe space' and 'the areas best kept secret'
When you train with us we know that training doesn't happen in isolation, it needs to work alongside everything else going on. That's why structure, planning and consistency sit at the centre of how the studio operates. so you know you are in good hands:

Our Training Approach
Coaching at Stimulus goes beyond simply turning up for a session. We focus on structured, progressive programming tailored to fit long term results.

The goal is to make training something that becomes part of your lifestyle, not something you start and stop.
Stimulus is designed to be small and focused to maintain integrity. Members train 1-2-1 or in small groups, creating an environment where coaching quality and community are equally important.

Membership Journey
Stimulus is a private strength training environment with limited membership places.
We don't offer drop-ins or open access. Every member joins through a structured onboarding process to ensure the right fit for both you and the gym.

Onboard
All new members begin with a short onboarding phase before joining group sessions. This may include:

Transition
Once you are comfortable, you'll move into small group sessions.

1-2-1 Coaching
Face to face personalised training designed for the individual in mind. Programming is centred around initial short, mid and long-term goal setting. This is carefully developed and adjusted over time to aid specific, long term results.

8 sessions per month
Designed for those training
2 times per week building consistency around strength training.
This membership suits people who want structure and coaching, while balancing work, family and other commitments. It provides enough frequency to make progress without overwhelming your schedule.
Progress
12 sessions per month
Ideal for those training
3 times per week, building strength, skill and overall fitness consistently.
This is where most members sit, a balance of regular training and recovery, allowing steady progress without burn out.
If you're looking to make training a consistent part of the week, this is the most suitable option.
Performance
16 sessions per month
Designed for those training
4 times per week, fully engaging with the structure of the programme.
This member supports consistent, high quality training while still allowing for flexibility when life gets busy.
It suits members who want to prioritise their training and maximise progress within a structured environment.
